‟You need your structure to fit your operating model, and you need a good performance model to make it run. You also need to build the ability to be dynamic in the organisation. It is not something you do once and it is finished, it is an ongoing exercise.”
Helen has a strong background in organisational effectiveness across a wide range of sectors. She has over 15 years of experience in strategy, operational improvement, commercial due diligence and line management. Her educational background includes a Ph.D. in Organisational Psychology.
She moved into her role as a Partner at Partners in Performance in 2020, where she helps clients with organisation and operating model design, capability building and continuous improvement.
Helen is known for working collaboratively with leadership teams to design and bring to life the organisation they need to execute their strategy. An example from her recent work involved partnering with an ambitious retail and services organisation. Together they defined the operating model required to grow a complex, combined business through the challenges of a global pandemic. The solution helped the leadership team keep their support costs flat while building key strategic capabilities. This enabled double‑digit growth across the operating units.
Helen believes organisational effectiveness is an ongoing process that requires constant review of operating, organisational and performance models, along with the ability to make rapid adjustments to reprioritise resources and build new capabilities.
